Oregon Breeders Needed
Although ASDA has dog breeders across the country, we are actively seeking local breeders. As a non-profit, the expense of interstate travel to visit and approve breeders, plus shipping/transportation costs creates additional expense for a closely managed non-profit budget. ASDA actively seeks Oregon breeders of Labs, Golden retrievers and Golden-lab mix. Because ASDA dogs represent a substantial financial investment for a family, the following criteria is required of both dam and sire for consideration and approval: 1. Pedigree certification from AKC 2. Hip Dysplasia:OFA (Orthopedic Foundation of Animals; www.offa.org) or PennHIP certification}Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program, through the University of Pennsylvania; www.pennhip.org/ (ASDA prefers certified PennHIP trained veterinarian to OFA program) 3. Elbow dysplasia: Same requirement as # 2 4. Heart: Board certified Veterinary Cardiologist; exam results 5. Current eye certificate (pink slip): exam performed by specialist (Veterinarian certified through the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology).
